The LightGenie provides solutions to troublesome problems in automotive lighting, for both
new cars and cars already on the road today:
- Daytime
Running Lights (DRLs) with the freedom of turning the lights on or off,
day or night. With a LightGenie installed on a vehicle, customers can
enjoy the added safety of reduced-glare DRLs, and still have the option of
enabling or disabling them in a semi-permanent manner. As a bonus, the LightGenie provides flash-to-pass for cars not originally equipped with them.
- Automatic turn-on
of evening lights. The device senses when the ambient lights are low by a
light sensor placed in a gap of the vehicles body; this sensor also enables
the LightGenie to sense daylight, and enable DRLs instead.
- Battery Protection.
If you've ever left your lights on, only to return to a car with a dead battery,
this feature is for you! The LightGenie provides a delay turn off of
all lights, Head, Tail and Dome, which means no more jump-starting after forgetting
to turn off your lights. Furthermore, the device also allows the customer
to manually activate the lights without the ignition key, unlike other circuits
on the market.
The LightGenie is also a Daytime
Running Lights solution to current consumer complaints about the inflexibility of DRLs. In the US, a customer who wants to purchase
a vehicle equipped with the LightGenie but emphatically dislikes DRLs will have the choice to disable them instantly. Unlike some other devices,
the LightGenie gives you complete control over your lights; you can turn
on or off your lights at any time, and you can enable or disable the DRLs whenever
you want. The LightGenie senses whether to turn on the DRLs or the evening
lights, and when it is time to park the car, it will automatically turn the
lights off as you walk away. The LightGenie insures that you will never
drive in the evening without lights; you'll never have to turn your lights on
or off again!Never before have
these benefits been available in a single package; each of the individual solutions
provided by the LightGenie can be shown to be superior
to the devices used in the industry now. The design of the
invention facilitates integration to automobile mass production. About the size
of a pack of cigarettes, the LightGenie can be installed without wire
cutting, wire splicing, or hole drilling. Instead, the unit is first secured
by a preselected bolt already on the chassis of the vehicle; it is then connected
by removing specified fuses and/or relays from the
underhood or instrumentation panel fusebox and plugging it into the vacant slots.
The light sensor is then fastened in a non-critical manner in a gap of the auto
body. Because of this unique method of installation, retail customers can install
it themselves, an auto sales representative can sell it as a factory-certified
option, and automobile manufacturers can incorporate
it into production easily. Since the LightGenie is designed to perform
all of its tasks using only the standard main light switch, there is no other
hardware to install! The LightGenie senses remotely whether the engine is running, the main light switch is in the
HEAD, PARK, or OFF position, and whether it's day or night; it then acts as
an intact fuse when lights are requested, and as an open circuit when it is
time to turn them off. It protects the vehicles circuits by monitoring them
several thousand times a second; if it finds an overvoltage or overcurrent,
it disconnects them immediately. It even reconnects the circuit if the fault
is removed.The inventor,
Tom L. Ricca can demonstrate the LightGenie at OEM site by arrangement. Marketing, Sales, or Purchasing
Executives can read a summary letter of the merits
of the LightGenie.
